Texas A&M International University (8-15 overall) plays a key match tonight at St. Edward's (12-12). The two teams will enter the contest tied for fourth place in the Heartland Conference standings with 5-6 league records. The top four teams in the regular season standings will qualify for conference postseason tournament, which will be hosted by St. Mary's University on Nov. 9-10. After tonight's match St. Edward's and TAMIU will both have two regular season Heartland Conference matches remaining. Both teams will play home matches against Newman and Panhandle State, teams currently in seventh and eighth place in the conference standings. TAMIU defeated St. Edward's 3-0 on Oct. 3 in Laredo. The Dustdevils hold a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Hilltoppers. |
