Final Stats

St. Edward's defeated Texas A&M International University 3-1 in Heartland Conference action on Wednesday night in Austin. The Hilltoppers took a big step towards the postseason with the 30-14, 30-15, 18-30, 30-28 win over the Dustdevils.

St. Edward's(13-12 overall) is now in fourth place in the Heartland Conference with a 6-6 league mark while TAMIU (8-16) falls to fifth place at 5-7 in conference play. The top four teams in the regular season standings qualify for the Heartland Conference Tournament, which will be hosted by St. Mary's University on Nov. 9-10.

TAMIU and SEU will both conclude Heartland Conference play with home matches against Newman and Panhandle State next weekend. Those opponents are currently in seventh and eighth place in the conference standings.
