Final Stats

Newman swept Texas A&M International University (25-16, 25-16, 25-18) in Heartland Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the TAMIU Kinesiology & Convocation Building. Newman finished with a 48-31 edge in kills and 56-48 edge in digs in wrapping up a season sweep over the Dustdevils.

Isela Flores led the Dustdevils with 12 digs and seven kills. Alexandria Montemayor contributed 10 kills and Brittany Reñdon finished with nine kills. Chelsey Potter led Newman (8-17, 4-4 Heartland) with 15 digs and 14 kills.

TAMIU (3-21, 2-7) returns to action on Tuesday with a non-conference home game against South Texas rival Texas A&M-Kingsville. First serve against the Javelinas is scheduled for 7 p.m.
