Oct. 4, 2007 Texas A&M-Kingsville defeated Texas A&M International University in four-games (29-31, 30-25, 30-25, 30-25) in non-conference action on Thursday night at the TAMIU Kinesiology & Convocation Building. The loss snapped a two-match winning streak for the Dustdevils. Sha Tramble turned in a solid performance for the Javelinas. She finished with 16 kills, six service aces and 19 digs. Tramble took the serve in game three with Kingsville trailing 25-20 and served the rest of the way to lead the Javelinas to ten straight points and a win. Five players notched double-figure dig totals for TAMUK (9-8). Tara Grier led the squad with 24 digs. Ladys Montaño and Nicole Gipson finished with 15 kills apiece for TAMIU (6-12). Madison Mojica led the Dustdevils with 20 digs. TAMIU will not return to the home court until hosting Newman on Nov. 1. The Dustdevils begin an 11-match road swing with a contest at Angelo State next Tuesday. |
