Final Stats

Texas A&M International University defeated South Texas rival Texas A&M-Kingsville 3-1 on Tuesday night in Kingsville. The win snapped a five-match losing streak for the Dustdevils.

After splitting the first two sets the Dustdevils jumped out to a 19-10 lead en route to a 25-18 win in the third set. TAMIU (3-11 overall) started out strong in the fourth set as well, racing to a 14-8 lead before closing the match out with a 25-17 win.

Nicole Gipson led TAMIU with 15 kills and three blocks. Alexandria Montemayor recorded 12 kills and 11 digs and Danielle Gilley notched 45 assists.

TAMIU returns to Heartland Conference action with a short trip to San Antonio this weekend. The Dustdevils will play at Incarnate Word on Friday night and St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon.
