Final Stats

Texas A&M International University split its two matches on the opening day of the Border Olympics Tournament on Friday. The Dustdevils opened with a 3-0 sweep of UT-Brownsville before being swept 3-0 by NCAA Division I member North Dakota.

Nicole Gipson recorded a match-high 12 kills in the win over UTB. Alexandria Montemayor notched 12 digs with Isela Flores and Daniela Gutíerrez contributing 11 digs apiece. Danielle Gilley finished with 31 assists.

The Border Olympics Tournament will conclude on Saturday with two matches at the Kinesiology & Convocation Building on campus. North Dakota will face UT-Brownsville at 10 a.m. and TAMIU will play Tarleton State at noon.

Adult admission is $5, students (K-12) $3 and anyone with a TAMIU ID will be admitted free.

North Dakota defeated Tarleton State 25-20, 25-19, 12-25, 25-20

TAMIU defeated UT-Brownsville 25-18, 25-23, 25-19

Tarleton State defeated UT-Brownsville 25-10, 25-9, 25-11
