Texas A&M International University Athletics Director Dr. Debbie Snell announced today that Lee Dobbins has been hired as the school's head softball coach. TAMIU will play its first season of softball next spring.

Dobbins arrives at Texas A&M International after spending one season as director of softball operations at the NCAA Division I level at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He served as head coach at Lander University for the 2006 season.

Prior to coaching at Lander, Dobbins gained three years of experience as an assistant coach at Tusculum College and UT-Chattanooga.

Dobbins earned a bachelor's in communications from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
