Texas A&M International University sophomore catcher Samantha Carrillo has been named Heartland Conference Co-Hitter of the Week for games played Mar. 1-7. She shares the honor with St. Mary's senior Arlynda Flores.

Carrillo helped lead TAMIU to a three-game Heartland Conference sweep of Oklahoma Panhandle State by going 5-for-9 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI. She also finished with 4 runs scored and 12 total bases against the Lady Aggies.

Carrillo and her teammates will host Newman in a three-game conference series this weekend at Dustdevil Field. First pitch in Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. and first pitch in Saturday's single game is scheduled for 11 a.m.
