Oct. 27, 2007 UT-Permian Basin scored two late goals to defeat Texas A&M International University 2-0 in Heartland Conference action on Saturday afternoon in Odessa. With the win the Falcons sweep the two-game season series against the Dustdevils. Kaetlin Benefiel headed a corner kick into the net in the 76th minute for UTPB (6-9-2, 4-6 Heartland) before Brandy Watts scored on another header in the 82nd minute. Goalkeeper Mary Jo Hall finished with two saves for TAMIU while Stephanie Ward made five saves for the Falcons. TAMIU (2-13-1, 1-8-1) will conclude the season next weekend with a couple of home games. The Dustdevils will host St. Mary's on Friday and St. Edward's on Sunday. |
