Oct. 4, 2007 UT-Permian Basin defeated Texas A&M International University 6-1 in Heartland Conference action on Thursday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. Melissa Medrano picked off a Falcon pass in the middle and scored from short distance to boost TAMIU to a 1-0 lead in the third minute. UTPB's Candace Ramos scored less than two minutes later and the Falcons (3-4-2, 1-2) would add five additional unanswered goals to record the lopsided win. Brandy Watts scored twice for UTPB with Ramos, Jessi Montez, Letha Irvin and Keila Rios adding one goal apiece. Tiffany Richter recorded three assists for the Falcons. TAMIU (1-8-1, 0-3-1) closes out a five-game home stand on Saturday against Dallas Baptist. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the home field. |
