St. Edward's defeated Texas A&M International, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. Freshman Rachel Carranza staked TAMIU to a 1-0 lead when she took control and shot a bobbled ball from St. Edward's goalkeeper Heather Koudelka into the net in the 19th minute. St. Edward's (15-2 overall) would answer with three goals over a 15 minute span to take a 3-1 halftime lead. Monica Hernández capped the scoring for the Hilltoppers with a score from 15 yards out in the 73rd minute. St. Edward's out-shot TAMIU, 25-7. Freshman goalkeeper Mary Jo Hall made 13 saves for the Dustdevils. TAMIU (3-10) returns to action next Sunday with a home game against Incarnate Word. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Dustdevil Field. |
