Texas A&M International University senior Nicole Gipson has been named Heartland Conference Co-Player of the Week for games played Dec. 3-9. She earns the honor along with St. Mary's junior guard Natalie Gamez.

Gipson recorded back-to-back double-doubles at the Houston Baptist Classic last week. She contributed 15 points and 13 rebounds against Houston Baptist and 14 points and 11 rebounds against Harding. Gipson came close to a triple-double against HBU, finishing with a school record nine blocks.
