Texas State defeated Texas A&M International University 77-52 in an exhibition game Friday night at the Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos, Texas. Texas State is a NCAA Division I member of the Southland Conference. The Bobcats are the second NCAA Division I team the Dustdevils have faced in exhibition contest in the opening of the season. TAMIU trailed a large deficit at half time 48-21 to Texas State. Newcomer Jasmine June led all efforts for the Dustdevils with a team high of 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assist. The Dustdevils rallied in the second half to out score the Bobcats 31-29. But, it was not enough to overcome Texas State 49.2 percent field goal shooting as a team. TAMIU will play its third exhibition game against NCAA Division I member Texas -Pan American. Tip-off will begin on Tuesday November 12, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. |
