Final Stats

Quentia Washington hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Lincoln to a 72-71 Heartland Conference win over Texas A&M International University on Saturday afternoon at the Kinesiology and Convocation Building on campus.

The score was tied 50-50 with 11:30 left in the game before TAMIU (4-18, 3-6 Heartland) went on a 13-4 run to take a 63-54 lead at the 5:03 mark. The Dustdevil lead stood at 68-60 at the 2:30 mark before the TAMIU missed three of three field goal attempts the rest of the contest, allowing Lincoln (9-11, 4-7 Heartland) to steal a win from the home team.

Linda Bañuelos led TAMIU with a season-high 19 points. Kiandra Metoyer contributed her first double-double, 17 points and 10 rebbounds. Christina Tristan finished with a team-high 11 rebounds.

TAMIU returns to action on Saturday with a conference road game at Incarnate Word. The Dustdevils will then play their final road game of the season on Saturday at St. Mary's.
