Jan. 12, 2008 Panhandle State defeated Texas A&M International University 60-53 in Heartland Conference action on Saturday night in Goodwell, Okla. TAMIU (5-9, 1-1 Heartland) led by as many as five points in the first half but OPSU (6-7, 1-1) battled back to lead 34-31 at halftime. Panhandle State would lead by 11 points in the second half before TAMIU cut the lead to 47-45 on a jumper by Krystal Manning at the 5:45 mark. The Aggies responded with a 9-4 run build an insurmountable 56-49 lead on a jumper by Jasmine Williams at the 3:17 mark. Manning led TAMIU with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jasmine June finished with 12 points with Nicole Gipson contributing 12 rebounds and five blocks. TAMIU will return to action on Thursday against Heartland Conference foe Incarnate Word. It will be the Dustdevils first home game since Nov. 27. |
