ACU Knocks Off TAMIU

Final Stats

Abilene Christian defeated Texas A&M International University 90-66 on Monday evening at Moody Coliseum on the ACU campus. The game was TAMIU's final non-conference game of the season.

ACU (6-6) jumped out to a 16-2 lead after four minutes of play. TAMIU would cut the lead to 20-13 on a layup by Chevelle Hoyle at the 10:26 mark before the Wildcats went on a 25-11 run to take a commanding 45-24 halftime lead.

TAMIU (4-8) got no closer than 12 points in the second half. ACU led by 20 or more points the last 10 minutes of the game.

Jasmine June led the Dustdevils with 16 points. Nicole Gipson contributed 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocks.

TAMIU opens Heartland Conference play on Thursday at UT-Permian Basin. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. on the UTPB campus in Odessa.
