Pam Bowden

Player Profile

Pam Bowden enters her first season as an assistant coach at Texas A&M International University. She brings over 20 years of experience at various levels of college basketball to the task of helping Daryl Vincent build a competitive NCAA Division II program.

Bowden arrives at TAMIU after spending the last three years self-employed in the property management business in Anchorage, Alaska. She has worked several camps over the last couple of years, including a stint as on court camp director at the J. Robinson Camp in Minneapolis, Minn. last summer.

Bowden's last full-time coaching stop was as an assistant at Syracuse University from 2000-03. She assisted in all areas for the NCAA Division I program, including recruiting and skill development for guards.

Bowden served as head coach at Indiana University-Purdue University-Fort Wayne for four five seasons from 1994-95 through 1998-99. She guided the Mastadons to a Great Lakes Valley Conference championship and NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in 1995-96. Bowden notched a 64-71 overall record during her tenure at IPFW.

Prior to taking the reigns as head coach at IPFW, Bowden gained nine years of experience as an assistant coach at Alaska Anchorage, Marist College and Spring Harbor University. She helped direct Alaska Anchorage to the school's first two NCAA Tournament appearances in 1991-92 and 1992-93.

A native of Saginaw, Mich., Bowden has earned a bachelor's in biology from Spring Harbor and a master's in sports administration from Western Michigan University. She is a former basketball student-athlete at Spring Harbor.
