St. Edward's defeated Texas A&M International University 4-1 in Heartland Conference action on Friday afternoon at Dustdevil Field.

TAMIU (5-7-2, 1-5-2 Heartland) took a 1-0 lead on an Arnolda Presas goal in the 8th minute. After receiving a pass from Gregory Mulamba, Presas dribbled past a St. Edward's defender before placing the ball in the next from short range.

John Calandro would tie the score for SEU (8-9-1, 7-2) with an unassisted goal in the 21st minute. The score was tied 1-1 at halftime but the Hilltoppers would break the game open with two scores within the first 14 minutes of the second half. Josh Nannen scored from 14 yards out in the 56th minute before Kevin Klaus stretched the SEU lead to 3-1 with the recovery and shot into goal of a loose ball in the 58th minute.

TAMIU returns to action on Sunday with a non-conference game against Lone Star Conference power West Texas A&M. WTAMU defeated TAMIU 3-0 on Sept. 17 in Canyon.
