Oct. 25, 2009 Texas A&M International University and Newman tied 0-0 in Heartland Conference action on Sunday afternoon in Wichita, Kan. The result places the Dustdevils in second place in the Heartland Conference standings with four wins and 14 points. Both teams finished with 19 shots apiece in the tie. TAMIU goalkeeper Luis Rincon and Newman keeper Stephen Williams were both excellent, finishing with 10 ties apiece. TAMIU (5-7-3, 4-2-2 Heartland) will play a non-conference game at UT-Brownsville on Nov. 2 before closing out the season with conference home games against St. Edward's on Nov. 6 and Incarnate Word on Nov. 8. |
