Oct. 15, 2007 Texas A&M International University defeated Newman 1-0 in double overtime in Heartland Conference play on Sunday in Wichita, Kan. The win avenged a 0-0 double overtime tie between the two teams on Sept. 7 in Laredo. Gregory Mulamba scored the game-winner for the Dustdevils on a shot from 35 yards out in the 107th minute. Juan Pablo Muñoz and Noé Pantoja each played in goal for the Dustdevils. The duo combined to make six saves in TAMIU's fifth shutout of the season. TAMIU (5-5-2, 1-3-2) returns to action next Friday with a conference game at St. Mary's. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. |
