Northeastern State's Clark Bradford scored an unassisted goal in the 26th minute and the game would go to halftime tied 1-1. TAMIU (4-5-2) would break open the tie with goals by Andreas Eliasson in the 55th minute and Adeyemi Gill in the 66th minute. Sean Hughes would score for NSU (4-8-1) in the 87th minute but that would not be enough for the RiverHawks. Northeastern State finished with a 16-10 advantage in shots taken and an 8-6 edge in shots on goal. Noé Pantoja turned in a solid outing for the Dustdevils, finishing with six saves.
