Final Stats

Texas A&M International University slid past St. Thomas 1-0 in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. The win snapped a three-game non-winning streak for the Dustdevils.

TAMIU (3-3-2) scored the game's only goal in the 69th minute on a short-range blast into the left side of the net from Adeyemi Gill. The goal was set-up by a beautiful point-to-point-to-point pass from Raul Quinoñes to Gregory Mulamba to Gill.

The Dustdevils missed several scoring opportunities before Gill contributed his second goal of the season. Quinoñes beat the St. Thomas goalkeeper but had a shot glance off the left post in the first half before Arnoldo Presas and Mulamba had shots deflect off the top bar in the second half.

TAMIU outshot UST 12-9. Noé Pantoja made five saves for the Dustdevils while Lukas Simon finished with four saves for St. Thomas (4-3-1).

TAMIU will play its next five games away from the friendly confines of Dustdevil Field. That trek will start on Sunday with a game at Eastern New Mexico. TAMIU defeated the Greyhounds 3-2 on Sept. 14 on the home field.
