18th ranked Midwestern State defeated Texas A&M International University 2-0 in the season opener for both teams on Thursday night in Wichita Falls. MSU out-shot the TAMIU 21-6 and held a 9-2 edge in shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Emmanuel Frias made seven saves in his first game between the posts for the Dustdevils. TAMIU opens Heartland Conference play with a road game at St. Mary's on Saturday. Kickoff against the Rattlers is scheduled for 4 p.m. |
