Texas A&M International defeated UT-Permian Basin, 3-1, in men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon at Dustdevil Field. UTPB (6-6-1) led 1-0 at halftime but TAMIU (4-5) exploded for three goals over the first 25 minutes of the second half.

Raul Quinones put the ball in the left side of the net in the 47th minute before heading a corner kick into the goal in the 67th minute. Karl McGettrick got the assist on both of those goals before rolling the ball into the goal after juking UTPB goalkeeper Gage Peterson out of position in the 69th minute.

TAMIU dominated the pace of the game, out-shooting the Falcons, 22-5.

TAMIU will play road games at Friends University and Newman University before returning home to face St. Mary's on Oct. 20. The Dustdevils will then close out the home portion of the 2006 schedule against St. Edward¹s on Oct. 22.
