Nationally ranked Incarnate Word defeated Texas A&M International, 1-0, in a hard-fought contest on Tuesday night in San Antonio.

Freshman Michael Terrell scored the game-winner for the Cardinals in the 64th minute. Incarnate Word out-shot TAMIU, 16-6, with junior goalkeeper Noe Pantoja turning in an outstanding night for the Dustdevils with six saves.

UIW, ranked eighth in this week's NSCAA/adidas top-25 poll, improved to 9-0-2 with the win. The Cardinals defeated TAMIU, 4-1, in the season opener for both teams on Aug. 28 in Laredo.

TAMIU (3-5 overall) returns to action on Sunday with a home game against UT-Permian Basin. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Dustdevil Field
