Nov. 19, 2007

Texas A&M International University's men's basketball team will play its 2007-08 home opener on Tuesday night against Texas A&M-Kingsville. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Kinesiology and Convocation Building on campus.

TAMIU will enter the game with a 2-1 record while TAMUK stands at 1-0. The Dustdevils had a busy opening week to the season, losing a road game at UT-Pan American on Tuesday before splitting a couple of overtime games at the St. Edward's Classic. TAMIU lost to Fort Lewis College on Friday night before bouncing back with a win over Lone Star Conference foe Midwestern State on Saturday.

Texas A&M-Kingsville opened its season with a 53-51 road win over St. Mary's on Saturday night.

The Javelinas hold a commanding 6-0 advantage in the all-time series with the Dustdevils. All games in the series have been decided by double-figures with the closest margin being a 71-60 Kingsville win on Nov. 26, 2005 in Laredo. The last time the teams met, TAMUK crushed the Dustdevils 83-40 on December 29, 2005 in Kingsville.
