Texas A&M International University has earned the fifth seed for the Heartland Conference Tournament, which will be held on Thursday through Saturday at Bill Greehey Arena on the campus of St. Mary's University in San Antonio.

TAMIU will play Dallas Baptist in a quarterfinal round game at 5 p.m. on Thursday. DBU owns a season sweep over the Dustdevils, winning 71-67 in Laredo and 76-68 in Dallas. After losing to the Patriots in Laredo on Jan. 4, TAMIU closed the season with seven straight wins at the Kinesiology and Convocation Building.

This year's trip to the Heartland Conference Tournament is only the second postseason appearance in the seven year history of the program. The previous appearance was accomplished when TAMIU participated in the 2005 Red River Athletic Conference Tournament, losing to Texas College in the quarterfinals.
