Texas A&M International University defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State 71-69 in Heartland Conference action on Thursday night in Goodwell, Okla. The win improves TAMIU's all-time record against the Aggies to 6-0.

TAMIU (9-17, 7-8 Heartland) held a 33-32 halftime lead over OPSU (4-22, 1-14). The lead would change hands several times in the second half before Derek Barnes pushed the Dustdevils to a seemingly comfortable 66-57 lead with two free throws at the 3:11 mark.

The lead also stood at nine points at the 1:55 mark before the Aggies went on a 10-2 run to cut the margin to 70-69 with seconds remaining. Spencer Foreman made one free throw with three seconds remaining to make the score 71-69. OPSU's Aaron Jackson then missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer and TAMIU walked off with the win.

Jerante Morgan led the Dustdevils with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds. Barnes contributed 12 points and Sean Tucker 10 points and eight rebounds.

TAMIU will conclude the season on Saturday with a road contest at UT-Permian Basin. Tip-off against the Falcons is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
