Texas A&M International University continued its excellent play at its home court with a 72-67 Heartland Conference win over Lincoln on Saturday afternoon. The result stretches the Dustdevil winning streak to four games at the Kinesiology and Convocation Building.

Lincoln (3-18, 1-11 Heartland) led by as many as eight points early in the second half before TAMIU (9-12, 6-5) fought back to tie the score 52-52 on a jumper and made free throw by St. Paul Latham at the 10:11 mark.

TAMIU kept pushing to take a 60-54 lead on a layup by Chris Swan at the 7:44 mark but Lincoln made its own comeback, tying the score 62-62 on a 3-pointer by Ryan Spearman at the 4:58 mark.

The Dustdevils would go up by four points but the Blue Tigers would not go away and TAMIU's lead was cut to 67-66 when Matt Morris made two free throws at the 1:28 mark.

Latham then took over and led his team to victory by making a layup to push the TAMIU lead to 69-66 and a dunk that provided a 71-67 lead with 14 seconds left in regulation. Lincoln missed a three-pointer on its ensuing possession and Will Faiivae grabbed the rebound to secure the win for the Dustdevils.

Latham turned in another outstanding game, finishing with 26 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Faiivae contributed 21 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

TAMIU returns to action with a conference road game at Incarnate Word on Thursday. The Dustdevils will then play their final road game of the season on Saturday at St. Mary's.
