St. Edward's defeated Texas A&M International University 21-6 in Heartland Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Lucien Hamilton Field in Austin. The win concluded a three-game series sweep for the Hilltoppers over the Dustdevils. SEU held a 5-1 lead before blowing the game open with a 14-run fifth inning. A total of 12 Hilltoopers combined to finish with 19 hits against five Dustdevil pitchers. B.J. Valadez (4-4) took the loss for the Dustdevils. He allowed seven runs on six hits in 4.0 innings. TAMIU will conclude the 2010 season next weekend with a four-game series against St. Mary's at Jorge Haynes Field. The Dustdevils and Rattlers will play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. |
